A financial services business is seeking a Risk Manager to join the team in Portsmouth.  You RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Creating an integrated Risk Management Framework that is in line with the scale and complexity of the business
  • Taking responsibility as the risk partner for the companies regulated boards, in association with the framework and also the Risk Appetite Statements
  • Updating the framework and statements on a yearly basis, aligning them to any modifications required and presenting these to the risk committee for sign off
  • Managing the preparation of the quarterly pack for the risk committee, including operational risk reporting and management information
  • Taking ownership of the business ICARA, ensuring documents and submissions prepared and approved
  • Reviewing the risk reporting, assessments, assurance activities and incidents and challenging as appropriate
  • Managing the Risk Register, ensuring risk owners are aware of the impact/probability of risk events happening in their respective areas and the depth of the mitigation controls in place
  • Supporting compliance teams to keep updated with regulatory issues affecting or may affect the business, predicting future requirements in risk areas
  • Delivering training across the business
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop metrics and a risk database for monitoring risk and setting up risk appetite thresholds
  • Managing risk reporting and the incident log, using the data to measure risk impact
  • Supporting the finance team to do testing for perform and reverse stress, in order to determine the effectiveness of the framework
  • Attending risk committee meetings
You MUST Have:Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • A Financial Services related qualification (Compliance or Risk)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the FCA Handbook, specifically on Risk under SYSC 7 & 21
  • Strong experience within a risk management capacity, particuarly using risk-based systems and tracking tools
  • Good understanding of risk frameworks and the measurement of controls for risk mitigation
  • Fantastic communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office
