Term Time Qualified Nursery Nurse

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of a lovely well-established charity who are looking to employ a Term-Time Qualified Nursery Nurse for their quality Preschool based in near Hilsea, Portsmouth. They are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to  provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for the children, ensuring that all requirements of the organisation, including Ofsted are met, and to encourage all children to reach their full potential and to look forward with confidence to their school years.

Requirements

  • Holds an appropriate and fully recognised Level 3 Early Years Childcare Qualification,
  • Has knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety practices
  • Is passionate about working with children and supporting their development
  • Has a caring, nurturing, and positive attitude
  • Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

  • To take responsibility for personal, punctual attendance and presentation, ensuring adherence to uniform and absenteeism policy giving as much notice as possible for absenteeism.
  • To be aware of and keep up-to-date with the Ofsted requirements for early years and work as part of a team to ensure these are adhered to within the Setting make yourself aware of the Ofsted requirements and aim to achieve the required levels.
  • To take responsibility for your individual learning through training, observation & study continually updating your knowledge through training, observation and study.
  • To plan, execute and evaluate daily activities and fulfil Staff duties according to rotas.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the building and equipment are safe for use by the children & Staff, removing any broken equipment and reporting hazards to your Manager, be watchful for defects of equipment causing a safety hazard and report any findings to the Health & Safety person.
  • To have a firm understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage standards to ensure that children learn & develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
  • The authority to discuss with Parents/Carers your key children’s development and any other individual needs/ concerns.
  • To report and adhere to Safeguarding Policies both NUF & LSCB (Local Safeguarding Children’s Board) for any concerns for any child in consultation with your Line Manager.
  • To carry out Key-person responsibilities, ensuring that the children you are responsible for are happy and progressing to their best ability in accordance with the EYFS (Early Years Foundations Stage). This includes observing, assessing, recording and monitoring all areas of children’s development on their Learning Journals and or Tapestry on-line.
  • To prioritise safeguarding and ensure the safety, welfare & wellbeing of all children both inside & outside of the Setting, reporting any concerns to the Safeguarding Officer/ Line Manager, when not available report any concerns to NUF’s DSO (Designated Safeguarding Officer).
