Our client who is within housing and construction services is looking for a Senior Health & Safety advisor to join the team on a fixed term contract asap.

As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll be part of the Health & Safety team and be involved in supporting our Operations and Property Services teams. 

You’ll help assure compliance with H&S legislation, company procedures and best practice.

As a minimum you’ll need to have NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent

Also need a full current driving licence with your own transport to be able to travel between sites around Hampshire.

As the senior H&S advisor you will lead on all areas of Health and Safety (H&S) within the defined Business Stream with the purpose of..

  • Ensuring compliance with all H&S legislation, company procedures and industry best practice
  • Provide competent advice and assurance to management to remain compliant in all areas of H&S
  • Support the continuing development of H&S strategy, procedures, initiatives and the implementation of action plans
  • Undertake inhouse audits, H&S inspections and accident investigations

To be suitable for this role you must have the following skills and experience…

  • NEBOSH General or Construction certificate
  • Extensive knowledge of Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
  • Working knowledge of other applicable H&S legislation
  • Understanding of a buildings construction, materials used, processes and knowledge of tools and activities involved in their build/ maintenance
  • Auditing
  • Accident investigation and report writing
  • Lead by example promoting good H&S practices and challenging poor practices
  • Able to influence at all levels
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Word
  • Good organisational skills
  • A self-checker with an eye for detail, able to produce a high standard of work
  • Effective communicator
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build up relationships
  • Team worker
  • Multi-tasker
  • Time management skills, managing own time and able to meet deadlines

Working hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Office Hours (37 hours per week)
