We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Primary school in Portsmouth. This is a vibrant primary school linked to a secondary school which is based locally on a different site.

This school provides both specialist school places and Alternative Provision (AP) for students in Year 5 and 6 who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) developmental needs and/ or medical needs.

Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant may include:

-            Working with small groups of children, through targeted interventions, to ensure all students reach their full potential.

-            Engage in extracurricular activities such as supporting with local visits around Portsmouth.

-            Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can thrive and flourish.

-            Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons and facilitating small group activities.

-            Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and providing informative feedback to pupils.

-            Safeguarding will be your number one priority, ensuring the welfare of the children.

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
