Network Engineer | Portsmouth | £38,000 (DoE)
Oscar Technology has partnered with a leading IT Service Provider based in Portsmouth to recruit a highly skilled Network Engineer to join the technical operations team. The role is full-time with 5 days a week being on-site.
Job Description
Implementing and troubleshooting network devices across a range of customer and client devices will be at the forefront of your role.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Utilise internal ticketing systems to manage workloads.
- Act as a networking subject matter expert on projects both internal and external.
- Take part in networking changes, internal and external patching.
- Maintain and manage system notifications and alerts, pinpointing opportunities across all of their monitoring platforms.
- Provide support both internally to colleagues and externally to customers.
- Introduce accurate documentation in line with company processes.
Essential Experience:
- The candidate will have 2+ years of experience working in an MSP environment.
- Practical experience of routing and switching protocols.
- Firewall experience, specifically: Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA or FortiGate devices.
- Proficient with Network tools such as PRTG, Wireshark and Fortigate
- Configuration and Maintenance of Cisco, Juniper and Aruba hardware
- Management of devices - including patching and updating
Desirable Experience:
- CCNA or JNCIA-Junos Certification
- Virtualisation experience (VMware or Azure).
- Data Centre experience (Patching & Installation of hardware)
- Remote Access Solutions (eg Cisco AnyConnect)
