Sonic Summary

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer with over 3 years of experience, preferably in service provider or Tier 1/2 ISP environments.
The role involves deploying and configuring L2/L3 network components and managing network elements for FITH Internet services.
Candidates must have proficiency in configuring Juniper devices and a strong understanding of various networking protocols and tools.
The position offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000, along with benefits such as an annual bonus, pension, and private medical coverage.
The job requires on-site work at data centers and PoP locations, with some flexibility for home working.

You will play a pivotal role in contributing to the ongoing design, development, and management of all the network elements, capacity, and traffic management necessary for the FITH Internet services. With the HQ being located in Portsmouth and field work required and some flexibility for home working.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deploy and configure L2/L3 network components (routers, switches, CGNAT, firewalls, VPNs, OLTs).

- Work on-site at data centers and PoP locations.

- Configure peering and transit connections.

- Diagnose and resolve network issues.

- Collaborate with third-party technical support teams.

- Perform network maintenance, including hardware/software upgrades and security patching.

- Support the broader Technology team with operational tasks.

Requirements:

- 3+ years of network engineering experience (service provider/Tier 1/2 ISP preferred).

- Proficiency in configuring Juniper devices (command line skills required).

- Strong knowledge of:

- IPv4/IPv6, routing protocols (internal/external), EVPN, MPLS, VXLAN, CGNAT, DHCP, DNS.

- L2/L3 network tools and troubleshooting in large-scale networks.

- GPON and FTTH platforms (especially OLTs).

- Experience in network security principles and practices.

- Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle.

- Right to work in the UK.

- On-call rotation: 1 week in 4, with additional compensation.
