Our client, a prominent player in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer specialising in Systems, Requirements, and Acceptance. This is a contract role offering the challenge and excitement of working within the maritime naval ships business unit. The position is based in Broad Oak, New Malden and Dorchester, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring on-site presence 1-2 days per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining effective partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders including customers, suppliers and other internal teams
- Applying in-depth knowledge and expertise in Requirements Systems Engineering
- Utilising DOORS requirements management software confidently
- Contributing to a team-based working environment
- Exhibiting good influencing skills within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Acting as an intelligent supplier by anticipating the likely needs of the MOD customer
- Capturing and maintaining data generated for use by the project and employing relevant tools and techniques
- Demonstrating flexibility in the approach to required tasks
- Accepting responsibility for and showing a visible commitment to SHE and quality
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience as a Systems Engineer within the defence sector
- Proficiency in requirements management software such as DOORS
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience in a collaborative working environment
- Strong influencing and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively
- Understanding of data capture and maintenance processes
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
