Based in Worthing

Job Purpose
Collect waste from residential and business addresses using the equipment provided, offering excellent customer service to all of the customers.
Key Tasks

1.Collect waste from customers, as directed by the Transport Team ensuring that the best service is provided at all times
2.Deliver the waste, which has been collected, to designated waste transfer stations or recycling centres as directed by a provided list of tipping stations
3.Carry out vehicle checks and inspections in line with the company procedures using the TCS1 form following the BP11 process
4.Always wear the company uniform and PPE that has been issued to you in order to comply with health and safety regulations
5.Operate the company vehicle to a high and safe standard, be competent, courteous and drive in an effective manner at all times to other road users and members of the public
6.Ensure your vehicle, cab and equipment are kept clean and tidy (inside and out) and remain in a well-presented manner, by caring for and maintaining your vehicle and any equipment
7.Read all instructions, notices, memos, notes of meetings, collection method statements, collection representative's handbook and any other correspondence and fully understand what is required of you. Should you be unclear of what is required of you, you must ask your line manager before proceeding
8.Carry out management instructions issued to you by the Transport Team and ensure you have understood the instructions given and seek clarification whenever necessary
9.Complete all daily paperwork using clear legible handwriting and submit all fully completed accurate documentation to the transport department on a daily basis by hand or by post
10.Immediately advise the transport department of failed or difficult collections as they are encountered before leaving site
11.Adhere to all site rules, notices and regulations whilst attending any sites
12.Ensure you load the correct material at all times, i.e. that it complies with the description on the waste transfer note, if in doubt contact the transport department for clarification
13.Ensure once the waste clearance is completed, the site is swept clean and left in a clean and tidy state
