About the Role:
As a Motor Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of motor claims for insurance companies . This role involves handling claims from inception to closure, negotiating settlements, meeting with clients, brokers, and insurers, and ensuring successful and cost-effective resolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Handling a portfolio of motor claims from start to finish.
- Assessing policy indemnity across various policies and underwriters.
- Conducting desk-based investigations into liability or instructing investigators when necessary.
- Managing cases through the court process, including instructing solicitors.
- Maintaining regulatory compliance in all client and third-party interactions.
- Developing a strong working knowledge of relevant statutes and case law.
- Building relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Excellent communication skills at all levels with a good telephone manner.
- Strong customer service ethos.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in IT, including Excel (a bonus).
- CII is desirable
