Family Solicitor / Legal Executive

Portsmouth | £40,000 - £70,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits

RecQuest is supporting a well-established legal firm in their search for a Family Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a respected firm, advising clients on a range of private family law matters, while also playing a key role in business development and client relations.

The Role

As a Family Solicitor or Legal Executive, you will:

  • Manage a varied private family law caseload, including matrimonial, divorce, financial settlements, children matters, and separation agreements.
  • Provide expert legal advice through face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
  • Draft key legal documents, including divorce petitions, financial agreements, and child arrangement orders.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings when required.
  • Collaborate with Counsel and Mediators to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
  • Take an active role in marketing the department, developing new business, and maximising cross-selling opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed billing and time-recording targets while maintaining high professional standards.

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (minimum 1 year PQE) with experience in family law.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • A proactive, business-minded approach to marketing and developing new client relationships.
  • Previous experience using case management and legal accounting software.
