Our client based in Portsmouth is looking to recruit an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager.

As the Warehouse & Logistics Manger, you will be responsible for heading up the day-to-day management of the Warehouse. Your focus will be on stock accuracy and to ensure the safe and efficient running, receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse goods.

You will be required to ensure effective and efficient maintenance and development of their supply chain, helping maximise sales and production and support future business growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning of warehousing to optimise space availability and safe storage
  • Monitor the movement of goods across multi-sites and stores
  • Manage all picking activities for supplier and customer fulfilments
  • Assist daily operations including deliveries and shipments
  • Ensure inventory management is maintained to secure accuracy
  • Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams on stock availability
  • Establish KPIs and manage team performance levels
  • Develop and improve picking and packing procedures
  • Manage and motivate a team to encourage teamwork and ensure productivity
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, good housekeeping and security
  • Manage contractual terms with logistics providers
  • Develop and oversee stock returns process
  • Advise on appropriate packaging options to reduce cost and minimise damage

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A working knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Experience of Improving warehouse efficiency
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of SAP an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be give

Hours

  • Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm
