Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumbing and Heating EngineerPortsmouth & Surrounding areas

FreelanceKey Responsibilities:- Installation, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances (boilers, heaters, cookers, etc.) in domestic and commercial settings.- Conduct safety inspections and certification of gas appliances in compliance with regulations.- Fault finding and diagnostics for both gas and plumbing systems, ensuring timely and effective solutions.- Perform plumbing installations and repairs, including pipework, fixtures, and general water systems.- Servicing and repairs of central heating systems, radiators, pumps, and associated controls.- Emergency response to breakdowns or urgent repairs in both commercial and residential properties.- Provide excellent customer service, explaining issues and providing clear recommendations.- Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and adheres to industry regulations.- Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken, including maintenance logs and certificates.- Collaborate with team members and mentor junior engineers, if applicable.Requirements:- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent.- Valid UK driving licence.- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.- Strong knowledge of current gas safety regulations and best practices.- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.- Willingness to travel to various sites when required.Desirable:- Experience with renewable energy systems (e.g., air source heat pumps, solar thermal).- Knowledge of building services and HVAC systems.- Certification in unvented hot water systems (G3).- Familiarity with commercial building codes and standards.Please feel free to contact me on
