The salary ranges from £30,000 to £40,000, depending on experience, with a requirement of at least 2 years in a similar Design or CAD Engineering role.
Candidates with experience in the Aerospace, Automotive, or other highly-regulated industries are preferred, along with proficiency in 3D CAD software like Inventor or SolidWorks.
The position involves using CAD for concept designs, liaising with manufacturing providers, and updating 3D models and drawings.
Applicants should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and ideally possess a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

ROLE- Mechanical Design EngineerLOCATION- PortsmouthTERM- PermanentSALARY- £30,000-£40,000, dependent on experience My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Aerospace industry. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent basis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design / CAD Engineering position
Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar highly-regulated industries would be beneficial
Be proficient using 3D CAD software, ideally Inventor or SolidWorks
Ideally Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Experience designing precision parts and components would be beneficial
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, fabrication, castings, machining etc.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Proficient using MS Office
Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
Liaising with manufacturing providers
Being involved in final assembly of products
Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Checking drawings for sign off
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
