The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is available in Portsmouth on a permanent basis with a salary range of £30,000-£40,000, depending on experience.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar Design/CAD Engineering position, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industries is beneficial, along with proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
The position involves using CAD for concept design, liaising with manufacturing providers, and creating technical documentation.
Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and ideally hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent basis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design / CAD Engineering position
Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar highly-regulated industries would be beneficial
Be proficient using 3D CAD software, ideally Inventor or SolidWorks
Ideally Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Experience designing precision parts and components would be beneficial
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, fabrication, castings, machining etc.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Proficient using MS Office
Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
Liaising with manufacturing providers
Being involved in final assembly of products
Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Checking drawings for sign off
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
