Duties in the Naval Architect / Senior Naval Architect Role:
- Design the structural integration of wind-assisted propulsion systems on new and existing oceangoing vessels, ensuring safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with shipyards, classification societies and other stakeholders, providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess and validate structural designs in line with industry standards and engineering best practices
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet commercial requirements including timelines, quality standards, and budget restraints.
Requirements for the Naval Architect / Senior Naval Architect role:
- In-depth knowledge of FEA analysis and recognised engineering procedures
- Familiarity with classification society rules for ship design
- Experience with advanced FEA software such as Siemens NX or Nastran is highly advantageous
- Proven experience in designing ship structures in accordance with CSR rules
- Previous experience in a shipyard of design office environment is preferred
- Experience in the development and design of merchant vessels, especially bulk carriers and tankers, is desirable
- Knowledge of ship cargo handling systems and their impact on structural design is a plus.
