The Role
As a Lead Structural Analysis Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative technology for the maritime industry. You will lead the structural analysis aspects of major projects, support the Head of Engineering in shaping and developing the structures team, and drive advancements in methodologies and tools. This is an opportunity to make a real impact, working on pioneering solutions that will transform the industry.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading structural analysis across major projects, ensuring innovative and robust solutions.
  • Creating, developing, and running advanced stress analysis simulations using NX SimCentre.
  • Supporting a multi-disciplinary team to ensure designs meet both static and dynamic load cases.
  • Providing expertise in physics-based system behaviour, load paths, and structural responses.
  • Conducting detailed hand calculations for mechanical fixings, inserts, and bonded joints.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Supporting the Head of Engineering in mentoring and developing the structures team.
  • Driving innovation by developing new methodologies and toolsets to improve structural analysis.
  • Managing external CAE resources and supporting physical testing and correlation activities.
  • Continuously improving engineering workflows, tools, and best practices.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in stress simulation, fatigue analysis, and non-linear analysis.
  • Strong expertise in Siemens SimCentre and Finite Element Modelling (FEM).
  • Experience with metallic structures is essential; composite structures experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in classical hand calculations and the ability to create your own calculation sheets.
  • Knowledge of TeamCenter and Siemens NX would be beneficial.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers is desirable.
