CMA HR Recruitment has partnered with a fast paced, commercial organisation based in Portsmouth, Hampshire for the recruitment of a HR & Payroll Officer to join them on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of HR, the purpose of the HR & Payroll Officer role is to manage the daily operation of the HR department, run the monthly payroll and offer guidance and advice to the Senior Management Team, as well as the wider business.

What will the role HR & Payroll Officer vacancy involve?

  • Prepare and process the monthly payroll for their UK operation.
  • Submission of all associated payroll returns and administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP etc.
  • Managing the Year End process and performing payroll reconciliations.
  • Support the management team and wider business with all associated employee payroll queries and HR related matters.
  • Manage an employee relations caseload, advising on performance, sickness and absence.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, retention and succession planning.
  • Provide advice and coaching to strengthen the management team and their employee relations experience.
  • Development of policies, procedures and practices.

Suitable Candidate for HR & Payroll Officer Vacancy:

  • Experienced professional HR generalist, happy to work flexibly in an SME organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with a pro-active approach to drive the HR strategy alongside daily operational tasks.
  • Ideally CIPD level 5 or equivalent, although qualified by experience HR professionals are also encouraged to apply.
  • Possess knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
