LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER

PORTSMOUTH, HAMPSHIRE

£45,000 - £50,000 + Private Medical Cover + Group life insurance + 22 days annual leave + bank holidays.

Due to an upcoming retirement, my client are looking to add to their skilled design team with the addition of a Lead/Chief Design Engineer.

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer. If you're a driven & highly motivated person wishing to craft out a successful and rewarding future in what is a truly unique environment, this could be the role for you. You will be working on a variety of projects, centered around autopilot systems and steering control solutions for vessels.

THE ROLE:

Delivering inhouse and customer training seminars

Train & support of junior team members.

Conduct detailed hardware and software design - for application in autopilot and steering control systems for marine industry.

Generation of a range of documentation and manuals - test , installations and design focused.

Meeting agreed project timescales and allocated budgets.

New product design and prototyping.

Design and build of test equipment.

Occasional installation support on marine vessels within uk and overseas.

THE PERSON:

BSc in Electronics / electrical Engineering

Proven knowledge and experience of digital & analogue electronics technologies.

Schematic design, capture and PCB layout.

Ability to create and maintain technical documentation that supports the product development process including product specifications, manuals and end user instructions.

Ability to create and give presentations to customers and partners.

Experience of owning design projects from cradle to grave.
