Your new companyYou will be working for Portsmouth Council.

Your new roleAs EVI Programme Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI) work programme working directly to the Programme Director (Transport Planning Manager).As programme manager and working closely with members of the EVI team, you will establish work streams, resource needs and financial requirements.You will work with colleagues across the council and bring in external expertise (consultants) as required to support on legal, procurement, resourcing and technical matters.You will help develop a strategy for success and map out activities, initiate work streams, monitor and report progress, concentrating on:

  • Developing and maintaining the capital programme from PIDS and latest PM docs etc.
  • Highlighting programme issues through the EVI Programme Board & Transport Delivery Steering Group, including delays, constraints, conflicts etc.
  • Reporting to external funders - e.g. OZEV on M&E, KPIs etc;
  • Ensuring main key issues and risks are identified, managed and reported.

The role is hybrid 2 days in Portsmouth and 37 hours per week.What you'll need to succeedYou will be an experienced Programme Manager with proven experience in the successful delivery of major transformations and complex projects.

  • Trained in Project / Programme Management Methodology (PRINCE 2, PMP, RMP, APM, MSP or other)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage financial reporting.
  • Strong Planning and project / programme control skills.
  • Proven leadership, analytical, people management and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Results driven.
  • Proficient in using MS Project, or similar planning tools.
