What You'll Be Doing:

As a Buyer, you'll take on a vital role in ensuring our production and service teams have the materials they need to meet customer expectations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and managing purchase orders for materials, services, and subcontracting activities to meet production timelines.
  • Collaborating closely with internal departments to align on delivery schedules and manage supplier relationships.
  • Supporting the business by ensuring product availability and maintaining accurate master data, such as contract agreements, delivery lead times, and order quantities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that deliveries and stock levels align with business needs.
  • Ensuring all products and services meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing SAP master data for designated part numbers and commodities.
  • Regularly reviewing supplier performance to drive improvements in delivery times and product quality.
  • Preparing monthly supplier scorecards and participating in supplier performance reviews.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to operational efficiency.


Additional Details:

  • Occasional travel within the UK and potentially to Europe may be required.

Skills & Requirements:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C grade).
  • SAP experience is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in supply chain management, including heat-treatment and material specifications, is a plus.
  • Engineering qualification and CIPS certification are desirable.
