Join our client's team as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist and play a pivotal role in developing and managing multiple sourcing initiatives that deliver exceptional value to our operations. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to establish effective working relationships, ensure procurement regulatory compliance, and achieve strong quality and technical outcomes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the supply chain sourcing process for a portfolio of procurement projects, ensuring on-target delivery of key business projects by sourcing from the supply chain and wider markets.
  • Shape and challenge business requirements using market and supplier insight.
  • Develop compelling and innovative sourcing strategies that challenge current ways of working and deliver best value.
  • Manage and prioritise several sourcing initiatives effectively through agile project delivery and problem-solving skills.
  • Support the development of best practices across the Procurement lifecycle; ensuring processes are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Build deep and trusting relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, with an ability to engage and influence at senior levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong ability to analyse and present complex commercial/contractual data and concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Solid negotiation, influencing, and resolution skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a strong customer service ethic.
  • Resilient and tenacious under pressure with a willingness to develop skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of the water industry or category-specific supply chain is advantageous.
  • Proven commercial and contractual acumen.
  • Experience of strategic sourcing/tendering in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Relevant business and/or supply chain knowledge.
  • Track record in delivering against stretching targets.
  • Knowledge and experience of regulated procurement procedures and NEC suite of contracts.
  • CIPS or MCIPS qualified, or equivalent qualifications in transferable expertise.
  • Project management experience or qualifications.
