Quantity Surveyor - Portsmouth - MOD Repairs Contract

 

Quantity Surveyor required to work with reputable, privately owned contractor based in Portsmouth. Our client specialises in the delivery of repairs contracts for MOD clients in the South of England, focusing primarily on the accomodation side of things. The successful Quantity Surveyor will have experience working pre- and post-contract using the National Housing Federation (NHF) Schedule of Rates (SORs).   • Contract Management
    Oversee repair and maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with MOD requirements and contractual terms.

  • Cost Estimation & Budget Control
    Prepare cost estimates using NHF Schedule of Rates (SORs), monitor project budgets, and ensure financial control.

  • NHF SORs Application
    Accurately apply and manage NHF SORs for pricing and measuring repair works.

  • Subcontractor Management
    Oversee subcontractors, ensuring work quality and adherence to contract terms, including cost control via NHF SORs.

  • Variations & Change Management
    Manage scope changes, cost variations, and ensure proper documentation and client approval.

  • Valuations & Payments
    Prepare valuations and payment applications, verify subcontractor invoices, and manage financial transactions.

  • Financial Reporting & Audits
    Provide regular financial reports, maintain detailed records, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

  • Site Inspections
    Conduct site visits to verify work progress and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications and SORs.

  • Risk & Dispute Management
    Identify risks, ensure safety and quality compliance, and resolve any contractual disputes.

  • Procurement & Tendering
    Support procurement processes, ensuring value for money and alignment with SORs.

  • Stakeholder Communication
    Liaise with the MOD and subcontractors, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns.

  • Final Accounts & Close-Out
    Prepare and finalise accounts, ensuring all costs are reconciled and projects are properly closed out.
