Our client, a well known FM contractorwith an enviable portfolio of sites and contracts, are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a contract based in Portsmouth / Southampton.

This position falls within the Project Management discipline and will require work on a variety of refurb and new buildprojects across the southern and south west region.

As Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for helping to estimate costs, quantities and project timelines and providing business support to the Projects Team. This will include facilitating the working relationship between the team and internal and external customers, ensuring the completion of project reports and documentation, build controls and milestones into plans and programmes, identify business priorities and opportunities for improvements and provide cost advice and support to the Billable Works Team.

In addition to this, you will liaise with the Senior Leadership team to report on progress of projects, attend Risk Meetings, ensure compliance across Health and Safety, Sustainability, Quality and other statutory requirements, as well as support change initiatives and identify alternative solutions.



The ideal candidate for this role will:


Hold a HND/Foundation Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying and appropriate experience within the Construction and/or Commercial Property Maintenance industry.


In addition to this, you should have experience of developing cost models, risk analysis and management, preparation of proposals and tenders and dispute resolution.



Have excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.

This role will involve working across 3-4 projects at any one time in construction, so it is essential that you are able to manage a large workload.
