Great opportunity for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager for a highly successful civil engineering contractor working on a major project

The position will be based near Portsmouth

Responsibilities of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager

  • Leading a major project to being regarded as an exemplar in the construction industry for Health, Safety & Wellbeing
  • Review and update the Contractor’s Health and Safety Management Plan
  • Respond to any urgent health or safety incidents which occur on Site.
  • Implement and encourage best and current practices in relation to the health, safety and wellbeing of anybody impacted by the works.
  • To implement a health surveillance programme for all staff deployed to Site,
  • Coordinates an occupational health and safety management system
  • Develop and implement a wellbeing programme
  • Monthly Reporting
  • Ensure all H&S legislation and rules are followed.
  • Research & inform regarding changes in health & safety legislation
  • Carry out site inspections & audits
  • Monitor, audit & report on contract H&S performance
  • Investigate & report on all accidents, incidents & near misses
  • Engage with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers etc. to achieve H&E targets & objectives.
  • Being the first point of reference for site issues, engage team members in resolving issues.
  • Develop and deliver monthly campaigns.
  • Coordinate Health and Safety committee meetings.
  • Attend Health and Safety meetings.

Expereince & Requirements for the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager

  • 5 Years + experience in a Construction environment (preferably civil engineering)
