We are proud to working alongside our client, a well-established national organisation with their search for a Yard Supervisor / Shunter Driver to be based on site in Portsmouth
What does the role involve?
- To supervise the day-to-day running of all aspects of the yard of the haulage company
- To teach best practice into all members the yard team
- To monitor and manage the performance to optimum levels of all yard staff
- To ensure all product / Vehicles is always correctly positioned, well presented and accessible
- Signing/Checking All Deliveries
- Ensuring Excellent Housekeeping In Yard/Workshop Area.
- Security / Gatehouse Duties ( Signing visitors in and out band directing accordingly)
- Completing site inductions for Hauliers
- Traffic Management
- General Yard coordinator house keeping
- Implementing site safety rules and reporting incidents to Supervisor
- Carry out Shunting work of vehicles within the yard
Your Experience
- Knowledge of HGV vehicles would be ideal as the role involves visual checks on Vehicles
- Experience within a supervisory role will be ideal but not essential
- Experience of HGV Driving is essential
- Successful candidates must possess a minimum of an HGV Class 1 Licence
- Can multi-Task and prioritise duties.
