Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? We are currently seeking a dedicated and flexible General Cover Teacher to join our team in Portsmouth, working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Behavioural needs.

As a General Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across a variety of subjects to students in an SEMH school setting. You will play a key role in providing a stable and structured learning environment for students who face emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to stay engaged with their education and develop the skills they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering lessons to students across a range of subjects, ensuring all students are included and supported.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and implementing effective strategies to engage students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Working closely with support staff and other teachers to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Providing emotional and pastoral support to students, helping to create a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress and providing feedback to school staff.

Requirements:

  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Previous teaching experience or experience working with students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a resilient attitude.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, able to cover a range of subjects and work with diverse groups of students.
  • A passion for supporting students with additional needs to reach their full potential.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
