Are you a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next fulfilling role? A lovely small school in Portsmouth is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support Key Stage 2 learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a full-time, long-term basis.

• Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

• Start Date: Immediate

• Schedule: Full-time, long-term

• Pay: £100 - £130 per day

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting students with ASD to reach their full potential-academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your key responsibilities as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant include:

• Providing 1:1 and group interventions for learners with ASD

• Supporting students at Key Stage 2 both in and out of the classroom

• Implementing individualised learning plans alongside the class teacher and SENCO

• Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour

• Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction

• Assisting with personal care tasks where necessary

• Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent

• Experience working with pupils with ASD or special educational needs

• Strong behaviour management skills

• Collaborative and flexible attitude

• Commitment to supporting the holistic development of children
