Prospero Teaching are seeking a confident and outgoing HLTA to join our client school based in Cosham.

An exciting opportunity awaits for an enthusiastic and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or someone eager to train for this qualification.

Role Highlights:

  • Class Coverage: Deliver lessons set by class teachers during PPA release, management release, or staff absences.
  • Teaching Assistant Duties: Support all pupils, including those with Education Health and Care Plans, ensuring their safety and helping them flourish within the curriculum.
  • Interventions: Carry out small group tasks and identified interventions to aid academic and social-emotional development.
  • Behaviour Management : Working closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviours and modelling positive regulation strategies.

About you:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a HLTA or in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A passion for education and supporting student development.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications/ requirements:

HLTA status (Desired but not essential)

Experience working as a HLTA- DESIRABLE

  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
