TLP Recruitment are working with an exceptional client who are massively growing their business and services offered. We are looking to support them in their port services operations and are looking for 8-10 shunters to work on an ad-hoc basis (when vessels are in).

Job Summary:

We are seeking reliable and experienced Port/Tug Shunters for our client in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for flexible, ad-hoc work with shifts available seven days a week (you can tell us when you are/are not available and we can work round you)

You will be responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of vessels, handling a variety of freight units. This role requires a proactive and safety-conscious approach, as you will be working in a busy port environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading vessels using appropriate equipment.
  • Handling a variety of freight units with care and precision.
  • Ensuring all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Working effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Adhering to all site safety regulations and procedures.
  • Operating shunting vehicles and other port equipment (if qualified).
  • Assisting in the smooth flow of vessel operations.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a port or shunting environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., forklift, shunting) are a plus.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Shift Details:

  • Shifts available Monday to Sunday.
  • 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM and/or 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM shifts.
  • Ad-hoc/temporary basis.
