Pupil Support worker/ Teaching Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £12.82-£14.72 per hour  
Start Date: ASAP
Long Term, Full Time, Temporary to permanent

Are you passionate about helping children with special needs? We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and vibrant special needs school in Portsmouth. This school provides both specialist school places and Alternative Provision (AP) for students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) developmental needs and/ or medical needs.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to work alongside an experienced teacher, supporting small groups of children with individual learning plans. They are looking for a positive and engaging person to join their supportive team of staff.

To be considered for this role you must be Team Teach or PRICE trained.

Responsibilities

- Working with small groups of children, through targeted interventions, to ensure all students reach their full potential.


- Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, providing one-on-one support to students and facilitating small group activities.

-  Assisting in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, following the school’s behaviour policy.

-  Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and providing informative feedback to pupils.

-  Safeguarding will be your number one priority, ensuring the welfare of the children.
