We are looking to recruit a Social Worker to work within the Fostering Service in the Social Care Industry. Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. Portsmouth City Council is embedding a systemic approach and is currently undergoing a number of changes focussed on reducing caseloads and improving outcomes for families. Main duties include:

  • Working as a Supervising Social Worker
  • Training and supporting Foster Carers
  • Completing Form F assessments or Kinship care Assessments
  • Supervising social workers support and manage a caseload of foster carers to provide excellent care to ensure the best outcomes for children we care - supporting carers to develop a trauma informed approach to caring for children.
  • The role of the supervising social worker is critical in supporting the carer to develop good relationships with children, providing stable nurturing family homes to support children in all aspects of their life.
  • The supervising social worker role is to work alongside carers supporting them with their ongoing learning and development to be equipped to care for vulnerable children meeting care standard .
  • Supervising social workers support foster carers as members of the team around the child and able to develop good working relationships with a range of professionals involved with children and families.

Minimum Requirements:

  • SWE Registration
