The Opportunity

We are seeking an additional software engineer to support our existing team in delivering high quality machinery to manufacture our wide range of products. Working alongside our experienced team, this role is key to the continuous improvement of robotic manufacturing for the Companys production processes.

Salary and Benefits

£40,000 - £50,000/annum (depending on skills and experience)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

PLC programming (Mitsubishi iQ-R)
Robot Programming (Mitsubishi R-series)
Programming of Keyence vision equipment (XG-X and CV-X)
Programming of other key equipment e.g. Servo, RFID, Inverter
Improving existing software to increase reliability and throughput

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of electronics to support their experience of software programming
Experience of Ladder Logic, Structured Text and/or Function blocks
Skill to transfer software language skills
Demonstrate excellent communication skills
Great team player
High attention to detail

We use Mitsubishi iQ-R PLCs, Mitsubishi robots, and Keyence vision equipment. Although knowledge of these is not essential, it would be advantage to have experience with them.

You must be keen to work in a dynamic, progressive area of the business, which is driving our continued evolution, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the connector industry. The successful candidate will need to be able to hit the ground running in terms of being able to create their own code and edit existing code to a high level.

As well as this they must have brilliant communication skills and attention to detail, as the parts we work with are very small. Training for specific software and equipment the successful candidate has not used before can be provided, but the candidates knowledge of the fundamentals of PLC programming and Ladder Logic must be sound.
