IT Systems Engineer
Location: Portsmouth - On-Site
Salary: Up to £70,000 + 10% bonus

Our client, an established UK defence & security firm is recruiting for an experienced and well-rounded IT Systems Engineer to join their niche IT Tools & Technology Team in Portsmouth.
Please note due to security requirements this opportunity is limited to sole British Nationals with UK residency of 5+ years.
What the role of the IT Systems Engineer entails:
Some of the main duties of the IT Systems Engineer will include:
- Developing of the tool setup, configuration and scenario files, such as Wireshark Dissectors
- Maintaining of the toolset that is deployed across the integration labs
- Performing post event analysis of the recorded Combat System data
- Organising and conducting toolset training
- Carrying out the configuration management of the deployed toolset
- Developing the future tools and maintaining the toolset roadmap
What experience you need to be the successful IT Systems Engineer:
Essential:
- Degree qualified, likely to be in STEM or IT related discipline
- Extensive software & script development experience on Windows and Linux platforms in most of the following: C/C++/C#, Shell scripts, Perl, Python, PHP, SQL
- Sound understanding of IP networks
- Good understanding of virtualisation technologies & containerisation
- Understanding of how synthetic environments support system integration and how they interface to the system under test
- Good understanding of systems engineering methodologies and experience of the full lifecycle
