Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team, specialising in modems and software-defined radio systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions in software-defined modem technology for a high-profile defence project.
This role requires eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
As an experienced Firmware Engineer, you will bring expertise in working with Xilinx products, along with strong coding, testing, and integration skills for complex modem systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, test, and integrate firmware for advanced software-defined modems.
* Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to meet project milestones and technical requirements.
* Deliver high-quality firmware solutions while adhering to best practices in version control and project management.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
* Proficiency in VHDL encoding within a Linux environment.
* Expertise with Xilinx Vivado, including experience with block diagrams and non-project mode.
* Skilled in TCL scripting for IP configuration and project building in Vivado.
* Knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog.
* Familiarity with Git for version control.
* Experience with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket).
* Previous experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
