Are you interested in supporting children with Mental Health issues and special educational needs?

A specialist school for children with profound severe and complex learning difficulties, based in Portsmouth, are looking for bright and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant's available to start as soon as possible! The school have 3 sites for pupil's aged 2 to 19 years, and they are in need of TA's across all years.Due to the needs in each classroom the school require consistency in their staffing. You must be available Monday to Friday during school hours to be considered. They provide support for children with co-occurring needs including, behaviour and mental health issues, autistic spectrum condition, severe physical disabilities and highly complex medical conditions. Due to the complex needs of the students within the schools, ideally you will have relevant, recent experience or qualifications whether this is in an educational field or if you come from a care background! We will also consider candidates qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology but other subjects will also be considered. The School is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who can bring enthusiasm, passion and experience to the classroom. They are looking for people who will be proactive and adaptable and be able to use their own initiative. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour is desirable!
