Stores Operative

Carbon60 are currently looking for a Stores Operative to join one of our Defence clients in Portsmouth and are looking for someone with previous manufacturing/warehouse experience.

The ideal candidate will manage inventory, ensure smooth warehouse operations, and support the efficient flow of goods in and out of the business.

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9 hours per day (Fridays off)

Salary: 23,500-24,500

Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Locate and pick materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Load and unload pallets and individual cartons to and from vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to packing /materials handling, quality, safety, and operation of equipment.
  • Prepare finished stock customer orders for shipment by labelling and packing.
  • Work with team members or individually to meet set goals.
  • Work at different stations as work requires.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Organisational skills and have an attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and analyse information.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Knowledge of inventory control.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating a forklift would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Valid driver's licence and safe driving record.
