INITIAL 6 MONTHS FIXTED TERM CONTRACT

A leading utility services provider in the UK, specialising in integrated power and communications solutions, is looking for a Head of Financial Services to play a crucial role in its continued expansion and success.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will implement strong financial discipline and control, and foster a mindset of responsibility, professionalism, and continuous improvement. This newly created role will oversee vital financial operations, including treasury, tax, insurance, company secretarial, and statutory accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall cash management, financing agreements, banking, bonds, and ESG initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including PAYE, CT, VAT, and IR35, and work closely with external tax advisors.
  • Manage insurance policies, including D&O, main liability, and cyber
  • Oversee company secretarial services, equity, Private Equity reporting, and filings
  • Provide notes and information for statutory accounts.
  • Coordinate financial plans with organisational goals to ensure continued growth and stability.
  • Lead efforts to update finance operations and ensure adherence to financial laws

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA preferred)
  • Relevant experience in both practice and industry is preferred
  • Proactive, hands-on, and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in financial control and reporting
  • Strong analytical and planning skills with the ability to lead complex financial services
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Experience in tax and treasury with an interest in building expertise in other financial areas
