Bennett and game are currently working with a well-established construction contractor/subcontractor operating across multiple sectors who are now seeking and SHEQ Manager to join their growing team. Our client works with major main contractors on MOD and MOJ projects. Having relied on external Health and Safety consultants for several years, they are now looking to bring in a full-time, in-house safety professional to support business growth and drive continual improvement.
SHEQ Manager Salary & Benefits

Key responsibilities
- Provide daily guidance on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards through site visits and observations.
- Respond to SHE-related queries in consultation with the SHE Manager.
- Conduct risk assessments and work proactively with teams to ensure SHE considerations throughout project lifecycles.
- Support the implementation of ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards.
- Actively monitor projects, identifying poor practices and significant risks.
- Investigate incidents, produce factual reports, and recommend improvements.
- Liaise with enforcing authorities when required.
- Assist in developing and updating SHE policies and procedures.
- Work with senior managers to implement SHE improvement strategies.
- Stay updated on legislation and industry best practices.
- Raise SHE awareness through toolbox talks, briefings, and training.
Qualifications/Experience
- NEBOSH Construction/general cert (minimum)
- NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ L6 in OHAS (desired)
- Providing proactive support to operational business units
- Up to date knowledge of UK legislation in relation to SHE Operation/development of systems accredited to 9001/14001/45001
- Relevant construction sector experience
