Primary Music and Drama Teacher - Independent School in Potters Bar

Are you a passionate Primary Teacher with a flair for music and drama? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a prestigious independent school in Potters Bar, teaching children from Reception to Year 6.

We're seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher who can bring creativity and energy to the classroom. This position offers a fantastic chance to work in a supportive environment with a well-structured curriculum in place.

Key Details:

  • Role: Primary Teacher (Music & Drama Specialist)
  • Year Groups: Reception to Year 6
  • Working Days & Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (08:00-16:00)
  • Start Date: 22nd February 2025
  • Form Tutor Duties: None required
  • Location: Potters Bar

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering engaging Music and Drama lessons, inspiring creativity and confidence in pupils.
  • Teaching a Music Theory Club on Monday mornings (08:00-08:40) with a focus on approximately Grade 1 content.
  • Participating in key school duties, including break, lunch, and drop-off responsibilities.
  • Attending staff meetings on Monday afternoons (16:00-17:00).
  • Writing detailed, end-of-term reports for pupils taught during the Spring Term.

What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified Primary Teacher with a passion for teaching Music and Drama.
  • Confidence to deliver lessons, with plans and resources provided. If you feel less secure with Music, the school follows the 'Music Express' scheme of work to support teaching.
  • Flexibility to cover additional lessons if required (minimal).
  • Able to commute to Potters Bar.
