About the Company:A leading accountancy practice in Wirral is seeking an ambitious External Audit Semi-Senior to join their growing audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to further their experience in external audit while progressing towards full qualification. You will work with a variety of clients across sectors, gaining valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.

The Role:As an External Audit Semi-Senior, you will assist with planning and executing audits for a broad portfolio of clients. You will work closely with senior auditors and gain exposure to all stages of the audit process, helping deliver high-quality services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planning and execution of external audits, including fieldwork and audit testing.
  • Preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying areas of risk within the audit process and providing recommendations.
  • Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain audit evidence.
  • Supporting the audit team in preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Assisting in the preparation of detailed audit reports and presenting findings to senior auditors and clients.
  • Working with senior auditors to ensure audit projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with a commitment to completing professional qualifications.
  • 1-2 years of experience in external audit, ideally within a practice environment.
  • Knowledge of UK auditing standards and accounting principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective client relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with audit software and accounting packages such as Xero, Sage, or similar.
