Description

Duties and tasks of the School Accountant:

  • Preparing month end management accounts, preparing reports, budgets, variance analysis and financial statement and P&L
  • Year end accounts production and liaising with external auditors
  • Presenting MI and company financials to Directors
  • Operational support and acting as the go-to person for effective communication between the Directors and the wider team
  • To assist in preparing long-term strategic budget planning information
  • Attending budget holder meetings, presenting figures and discussing variance analysis

Profile

To be successful as the School Accountant you will have:

  • A relevant accountancy or business qualification
  • Worked within the education sector
  • Currently operating at Accountant level and worked closely with Directors and Senior Leadership Teams
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Monitoring funding and production of financial reports including monthly management accounts and year end audits
  • Ability to analyse financial issues and interpret complex information and offer sound and professional advice
  • Commercial awareness and ability to achieve value for money
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and communicate company needs to the wider business and stakeholders
