Children Residential Deputy Manager

We are seeking a Deputy Manager for a children and young people’s residential home. This role is ideal for a dedicated individual with a passion for leadership and a background in children’s residential care. The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in children’s residential care, experience in leading teams, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to young residents.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for children and young people.
  • Lead and manage staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a cohesive and effective team.
  • Be part of the on-call rota and be willing to work occasional weekends to support the needs of the home and its residents.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the care team, ensuring they meet the individual needs of the residents.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of services.
  • Act as a role model, promoting a positive and nurturing environment for both staff and residents.
  • Work closely with the Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home and to deputise in their absence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 3 qualification in children’s residential care.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a leadership role within a children’s residential setting.
  • Two years’ experience working in children’s residential care.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A compassionate and caring approach to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including on-call and occasional weekend duties.
