Our client is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join their team on a 6-month contract. The role will initially focus on clearing a backlog of absence management cases, with the potential for long-term improvement work once the backlog is cleared.

Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and resolve pending absence management cases within the building & construction sector.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure effective follow-up and resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements related to absence management.
  • Support managers in recognising early signs of absence issues and offer guidance on best practices.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvement to make absence management more efficient across the business.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure effective management.
  • Work with Union reps to navigate industrial relations issues where they arise.

Profile

  • An Experienced HR Advisor or Employee Relations Advisor
  • Experience in absence management, preferably within the Building and Construction or similar industry.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and resolve cases efficiently.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and coaching managers.
  • A good understanding of legal requirements and policies related to absence management.
  • Experience managing cases in a unionised environment, with the ability to navigate complex industrial relations situations and ensure fairness and compliance.
