Your new companyWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 teacher, ideally with experience of teaching year 1 classes, to join a friendly and supportive team at a Birkenhead Primary School, on the Wirral peninsula. The post is part-time for at least a term starting in January 2025.Your new roleAs a KS1 teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs and interests of your pupils. You will also be expected to assess and monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and support, and work collaboratively with other staff and parents. You will work closely with other teachers in the KS1 team, your colleagues around the school, and the senior leadership team to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. You will have access to excellent resources and facilities, as well as ongoing professional development and support. The role will be for 2-3 days a week and ECTs with strong KS1 teaching experience are welcome to apply.

What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • An enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience of teaching KS1 classes in a primary school setting, including ideally year 1 classes
  • Experience of Read-Write Inc phonics and the national curriculum
  • A creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
