Are you a detail-oriented professional looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support their daily legal cashiering operations. This role offers the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounting Regulations and AML legislation, with the goal of fully supporting and mirroring the Senior Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing: Handle transactions, including incoming funds and outgoing payments, through various financial mechanisms.
  • Client Receipts and Payments: Prepare and process client receipts and electronic payments.
  • Conveyancing Packs: Check and post high-value conveyancing completion packs.
  • Petty Cash Management: Maintain the petty cash box.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Post and reconcile credit card transactions.
  • Financial Adjustments: Assist with write-offs, disbursements, and credit note requests.
  • Supplier and Expense Processing: Process supplier invoices and payments, as well as expense claims.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Identify and report any suspected account breaches or unauthorized activities to the Accounts Manager.
  • Invoice Posting: Post nominal invoices onto Liberate Purchase Ledger and generate monthly payment lists for suppliers.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize legal accounting software effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understand solicitors' accounts rules, AML regulations, and banking processes.
  • Account Maintenance: Maintain client and office accounts.
  • Legal Aid Billing: Knowledge of legal aid billing and submissions is an advantage.
