About Us: I am recruiting a HLTA on behalf of a nurturing primary school dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs (SEN). We believe in the transformative power of outdoor learning and are seeking a passionate and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead our Forest School program.

Role Overview: As the HLTA for our Forest School, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging, hands-on outdoor learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of our SEN students. You will facilitate a variety of activities that promote social skills, personal development, and a love for nature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Forest School sessions that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating outdoor environment.
  • Support students in developing independence, teamwork, and resilience through experiential learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create individualized learning plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and staff.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting.
