A highly regarded Liverpool based law firm are currently looking to recruit a Mental Health Accredited Panel Member to join their well established niche Mental Heath Team.

You will be required to be a Mental Health Accredited Panel Member with experience of managing their own caseload representing clients detained under the MHA.

Job Title - Mental Health Accredited Panel Member

Location - Liverpool - working as part of a team covering a large area of the North West of England and North Wales.

Salary - Competitive DOE

Duties include

  • Managing own caseload
  • Advising clients orally, in writing, and by telephone
  • Drafting documentation and correspondence
  • Interviewing clients and witnesses and preparing statements
  • Reviewing expert reports
  • Handling routine client enquiries and communications
  • Maintaining a diary
  • Ensuring file order and time recording
  • Complying with LAA requirements
  • Undertaking training and self-development
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation
  • Maintaining high standards in client work processing
  • Sign-up clients, advising them of tribunal role and their powers
  • Preparing files for tribunal hearings
  • Providing legal advice and support to clients
  • Representing clients at tribunal and hospital managers hearings
  • Review of Tribunal decisions
  • Close files and prepare for billing
