- Carry out timely, high-quality assessments, care planning and direct work with children, young people and families.
- Manage cases across the continuum: Child in Need, Child Protection, court work and permanence planning.
- Lead safeguarding enquiries, balancing risk, rights and positive outcomes.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and present confidently in court and multi-agency meetings.
- Work closely with health, education, police and voluntary partners to deliver joined-up support.
- Contribute to service development, mentoring less-experienced colleagues and modelling best practice.
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience across assessment, safeguarding, care proceedings and permanence.
- Sound working knowledge of Children Act legislation and current statutory guidance.
- Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
- Commitment to relationship-based, strengths-focused practice and equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Willingness to work flexibly, travel within the borough and participate in occasional out-of-hours duties.
