The business prides itself on a strong, hands-on culture and a commitment to excellence. The Role This is a hands-on Financial Controller role, where you will work closely with the Finance Manager, senior leadership, and wider operational teams to enhance financial efficiency. You will take ownership of the company’s financial operations, providing strategic oversight while ensuring robust financial controls are in place. You will also support business performance by identifying opportunities for cost savings, analysing financial data, and advising on financial strategy. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
- Conduct internal audits, reviewing financial processes and implementing improvements.
- Analyse operational costs and recommend efficiencies, such as supplier negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage profit and loss (P&L), financial reporting, and year-end accounts preparation.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager, who will handle payroll and invoicing, while you focus on higher-level financial strategy and business performance.
- Provide financial insights to sales and marketing teams to support growth initiatives.
- Reconcile accounts and oversee inventory management, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Develop financial milestones and create a roadmap to achieve business targets.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and Finance Manager, ensuring financial alignment across departments.
- Utilise Xero and Excel to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
- A strong finance professional with experience in a fast-growing business.
- A confident and assertive individual who can challenge senior leadership when necessary.
- Excellent understanding of financial strategy, cashflow management, and cost analysis.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Strong operational and commercial awareness, with the ability to work closely with sales and marketing teams.
- Previous experience in a hands-on role, where financial decision-making impacts overall business success.
- Experience using Xero and strong proficiency in Excel.
- AAT qualification is beneficial, but a full chartered qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is not essential.
