LFUK are looking for an experienced Laboratory Chemist & Environmental Lead to join their clients team in the Knowsley area.

Main Purpose/s

  • To test products, in-process liquors and raw materials are the right quality and tested timely in line with correct safety and security practices, whilst working without supervision.
  • To lead new product introduction projects.
  • To build and lead environmental controls and improvements across the business for Ames Goldsmith to become ISO accredited.

Main Duties

  • ISO 9001 & Quality Control - data recording, analysis and decision-making.
  • Maintain test results and stores this data within the clients system
  • Maintains and order stocks as required
  • Review and enter quality data
  • Review the analytical results and FPY data
  • Agreeing and delivering against environmental parameters
  • Building a robust Environmental culture throughout the business
  • Attendance and chairing appropriate meetings
  • Review the analytical results and first pass yield data
  • Timely preparation of chemical standards
  • Calibration and equipment checks
  • Completion of analytical tests before product release
  • Quality results update at communications meeting
  • Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Maintenance of the results database
  • Maintenance and storage of retained analytical sample
  • Record storage
  • Creation, delivery and maintenance of a robust environmental system
  • Support Lead Auditor & Customer Services to maintain the ARF (Action Request Form) System and administrate the weekly SHEQ meetings.
  • Assisting with Improvement Projects

Your normal hours of work are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. To be worked flexibly between 6:30 am and 9:00 pm as necessitated by the needs of the business, with a minimum of 7.5 hours each day with a 30-minute unpaid break.
